The 10 best VC events in London for early-stage founders
Kate Fletcher ranks the 10 London VC events actually worth a Tuesday for pre-seed and seed founders — real partner attendance, real intros, no badge-tax conferences.
If you're a pre-seed or seed founder in London and you want to meet investors before you raise, the question is which events actually have partners showing up versus which are pure marketing for the fund. After a year of working the circuit and asking other founders the same question, here's the ten I'd actually put a Tuesday aside for.
For the live calendar, the London startup events page does the aggregation work.
The top of the table
Newton Venture Partners founder office hours are the single highest-signal VC event in London right now. Genuinely partners-attending. Application-based, smaller format, real conversation. Apply with substance — two real sentences about what you build.
Entrepreneur First office hours are open to non-EF founders for some sessions. Partners and senior staff actually attend. The bar to apply is real but not absurd. EF's King's Cross presence makes this consistent.
The fund-led events
Index, Atomico, and the bigger London VC open days when they happen are worth every minute. Partners attend. Less frequent than the meetup-format events but the room is correct. Watch their LinkedIn announcements for application windows.
Octopus Ventures founder events are less hyped than the bigger names but consistently useful. Partners attend, the format is conversational rather than pitch-heavy, and the follow-up is real.
LocalGlobe founder events are very London. Tied to their King's Cross presence. Partners and associates both attend. Application-based and the bar is real.
The dinner circuit
AI House founder dinners are the highest-density VC presence for AI-flavoured founders. Themed dinners, reliable partner attendance from AI-focused funds, application-only. Two sentences about what you build, not a generic blurb.
YC London founder dinners when YC partners are in town are mega. The alumni network shows up too, which is honestly more useful than the partner conversation for most early founders.
FT Founders Forum events are curated and smaller. Harder to get into. Worth applying for if you're a serial founder or have a strong angle. The bar is real.
The press-and-conference options
Sifted founder events are press-led but the speaker line-ups consistently include partners. Pay £30, get an evening with senior investors. Cheap and high signal.
The lowest tier
Generic VC pitch nights — useful for first-time founders to practice pitching but don't expect partners. Associates at most. Show up to one to learn the format, then graduate to the events further up the list.
How to actually work the VC event circuit
A few rules that work:
- Don't pitch in the first sentence. The "I'm raising £2m for an AI-vertical-SaaS" lead-in marks you as a first-timer. Ask what someone's working on, listen, follow up.
- Show up six months before you raise. The best meetings happen when you don't need anything. Partners remember the founder who showed up early and stayed in touch.
- Apply with substance. Generic blurbs get filtered. Two sentences about what you build is enough.
- Bring something to show. A short demo beats a slide deck at every one of these events. Even a screenshot in your pocket is useful.
- Skip the LinkedIn DM after. Email or WhatsApp. The hit rate is alot higher.
What to skip
A few formats to filter:
- "VC speed-dating" events. The format is bad for everyone — investors hate it, founders walk out with nothing.
- Generic "founder networking" with no investor presence. Look at the speaker list. If no fund is on it, skip.
- Events organised by someone you've never heard of with no fund partnership. The good London events have a fund or a known operator behind them.
- Anything that requires a £400+ ticket for "access" to investors. The investors worth meeting do not work this way.
A note on the seed-stage realities
The London VC scene in 2026 is alot more competitive than it was in 2021. Partners have less time, less inclination to take cold meetings, and more incoming applications. The events above are the legitimate path to warm intros. Don't be the founder who attends one event and DMs every partner the next morning. Show up consistently, build relationships before you need them, and the round comes together.
For the live calendar across all of these plus the smaller VC events that pop up week to week, the London startup events feed is the cleanest aggregation. The 2026 spring calendar is dense — pick well.

FAQ
- Will I actually meet partners at these?
- At the top six on the list, yes. Partners attend in person. At the bottom four, you'll meet associates, which is still useful for warm intros.
- Do I need to be raising to attend?
- No. The best time to meet investors is six months before you raise. These events filter for that crowd.
- Are any of these private?
- A few are application-based with a real bar. None require an existing investor intro — apply on merit.
