The Invisible Backbone of Healthcare: Careers in Clinical Lab Sciences

by Nucleate Global Events Calendar

About this event

Clinical laboratory professionals are the people behind the scenes generating the diagnostic data that guides most medical decisions, yet these careers are often overlooked by undergraduate students, even as workforce demand continues to grow nationwide. This panel is designed to introduce students to real, actionable career pathways in the Clinical Laboratory Sciences. You will hear directly from ASCP-certified professionals, including a Histotechnologist, and a Pathologists’ Assistant, about what they do day to day, how they got there, what certification pathways look like, and what job opportunities are available in Arizona and beyond. We will connect how common research skills such as PCR, flow cytometry, microscopy, histology techniques, and data analysis translate directly into clinical diagnostic roles. The event includes a moderated discussion, open Q and A, and time for informal networking. If you are a life sciences or biomedical student interested in healthcare but looking for options beyond the traditional pre-med route, this is a great opportunity to explore stable, high-impact, and high-demand career paths.
