The Hiring Table is coming to Pique Café on Thursday, 14th May, an intimate YES Club dinner bringing together 16-18 carefully curated startup founders navigating the realities of early-stage hiring.

Our keynote guest is Matthew, Co-Founder of Jumpstart, one of the go-to hiring platforms for early-stage startups. Since 2020, Jumpstart has helped place more than 1,000 candidates into startups across sales, ops, marketing, engineering, and generalist founder support roles. In 2025, the business surpassed £2 million in revenue, all while remaining fully bootstrapped.

On the night, Matthew will share key lessons from building Jumpstart from the ground up, from spotting a clear gap in the market to creating one of the most trusted hiring brands for early-stage founders. We’ll then explore one of the biggest questions founders face, when is the right time to make your first or next hire, which role creates the most leverage, and what mistakes are most often made when hiring too early or for the wrong role.

But as with every YES Club dinner, the value is not just in hearing from one brilliant founder. It is also in learning from each other, having honest conversations with people building at a similar stage, and forming deeper connections with carefully selected founders who understand the challenges you are facing. The evening will be a digital detox experience, with a curated rotating seating plan and hyper-personalised touches designed to make the room as relevant as possible to your current stage, challenges, and ambitions.
