Hosted by the British Consulate General San Francisco and the West End Arts District, GREAT Oceans marks the US premiere of the internationally acclaimed Ocean Photographer of the Year exhibition - presented by Oceanographic and Blancpain.
This special SF Climate Week gathering brings together artists, ocean advocates, policymakers, and innovators to explore both the beauty and the fragility of our marine environments. We are delighted to welcome two distinguished speakers: Rachel Kyte, the UK’s Special Representative for Climate, and Dr. Kate Huckelbridge, Executive Director of the California Coastal Commission.
The evening offers an exclusive first look at breathtaking ocean imagery from across the globe, paired with a discussion spotlighting UK–California collaboration on marine protected areas, marine biodiversity, and the resilience of coastal ecosystems. Join us as we celebrate the growing partnership between the UK and US to protect ocean health, foster innovation in the blue economy, and accelerate nature recovery.
A special ferry service will depart from the San Francisco Ferry Building (Pier 1) at 5:20 PM and will transport registered guests directly to Hangar 41 in Alameda.
