From waking up to going to sleep we would have negotiated a few hundred times — with colleagues, clients, family, and strangers. Yet most of us never pause to examine how we negotiate, or why we shift styles depending on the situation.
"We are adjusting our negotiation style based on the opponents' strength and the stake involved. These will make the difference in our behaviour between choosing to act like a dolphin, or like a shark." — George Avramescu
This hands-on, interactive workshop is not a lecture — it is an exercise. You will negotiate live, in real scenarios, discovering your own instincts under pressure and learning to calibrate them deliberately.
🐬 The Dolphin
Fluid, intelligent, collaborative. Seeks win-win outcomes. Reads the room. Builds long-term trust.
🦈The Shark
Direct, relentless, high-stakes. Knows when to press hard and when to close. Leaves nothing on the table.
Ultimately, they both have sharp teeth. The skill is knowing which one to be — and when.
About the event:
Through distinct negotiation exercises — the soft deal, the hard deal, and the no deal — you will stress-test your assumptions, discover your blind spots, and sharpen your instincts in a safe but genuinely challenging environment.
You'll learn how to:
Read the room and calibrate your style — dolphin or shark — based on stakes and counterparty strength.Recognise psychological triggers and use them ethically to create mutual value.Develop a personal negotiation playbook you can apply immediately — at work, in business, and in life.
Practise under pressure in an interactive, group-based apprentice style simulation with real-time feedback.

This workshop directly sharpens that.Sales & Business Development Professionals — client deals, pricing conversations, contract terms. The soft/hard/no-deal framework maps directly onto their daily reality.Senior Managers & Team Leads — internal negotiations around budgets, headcount, priorities, and influence without authority.C-Suite & Executives — board conversations, M&A, partnerships. George has delivered this to rooms full of C-levels; the stakes-based framework resonates at the top.Consultants & Advisors — constantly navigating client expectations, scope creep, and fee conversations across multiple relationships simultaneously.Procurement & Commercial Professionals — supplier negotiations, contract renewals, and vendor management are textbook soft/hard/no-deal territory.Entrepreneurs & Founders — investor conversations, co-founder agreements, customer deals, hiring offers — all high-stakes, low-margin-for-error negotiations.HR & People Leaders — salary negotiations, conflict resolution, and organisational change management all require calibrated negotiation instincts.
