🌸 Spring Fashathon | Hosted by 99 YARDS & Voxxy 🌸 Get ready for an electrifying fashion challenge! Four groups of three talented designers will compete over 5 days to create a stunning capsule collection from scratch. Each day includes check-ins, mentorship, and guidance from special guests in the fashion industry to inspire and elevate the participants’ creations. We’re partnering with Shopclosr—the winning collection will be featured in-an event pop-up. Fabrics are provided by FabScraps, and for those without machines, New York Sewing Center has you covered. Hosted by 99 YARDS & Voxxy 99 YARDS is a one-stop fashion ecosystem connecting designers, brands, models, and industry professionals. They empower creativity by providing tools, resources, and opportunities to bring fashion visions to life. Voxxy is a Brooklyn-built event management platform for producers coordinating vendors across recurring events. Applications, automated emails, vendor CRM, and payment tracking in one place - so producers run more events, not more spreadsheets. The Partners The 7-Day Challenge Breakdown Day 1 – Kickoff MeetupDesigners meet at our event space and are placed into their selected teams. The challenge officially begins. Day 2 – FabScraps ExperienceTeams meet at FabScraps for a 2-hour fabric sourcing session. Designers will sort through materials and receive their fabrics in a surprise bag to inspire innovative thinking. Day 3 – Virtual Check-InOnline progress review with a surprise special guest from the fashion industry offering mentorship and feedback. Day 4 & 5 – Virtual Check-Ins + Sewing DaysFocused construction days with online check-ins, guidance, and continued mentorship as collections take shape. Day 6 – Model Selection & PhotoshootDesigners select models and bring their capsule collections to life in a professional photoshoot. Day 7 – Final Event & VotingThe collections are presented at a live event where guests vote to determine the winning team. New York Sewing Center – Offering sewing machines for participants who need them, ensuring every designer has the tools to create their capsule collection. ShopClosr – Will showcase the winning collection at their next pop-up event, giving designers additional visibility and access to a new audience.
