About the Morning
Zita West has spent over four decades working with couples navigating conception, IVF and pregnancy. Her new book, Conceive, distils that clinical experience into something urgent and radical: a reframing of fertility not as a problem to solve, but as an intelligent process the body allows when it feels safe, nourished and supported.
This breakfast brings together Zita in conversation with family lawyer Amy Rowe, moderated by Lottie Leefe, founder of The Dura Society. It is an intimate, unhurried morning designed to give women both the knowledge and the permission to approach this chapter of their lives differently.
The conversation sits at the intersection of medicine, law and lived experience. Women today are more informed than any previous generation, yet many report feeling more overwhelmed and more disconnected from their bodies than ever. This morning is designed to address that gap.

Themes in Focus
The conversation will draw on the central ideas of Conceive, exploring why modern fertility has become so over-medicalised, and what that cost looks like in practice. Zita will introduce the concept of the zero trimester, the preparation that happens before pregnancy begins, and why this period is so often overlooked. The discussion will also touch on how pressure and over-optimisation can actively work against conception, the role of the nervous system and emotional safety in fertility, and why fertility is better understood as an energy process than a purely hormonal one.
Amy Rowe will bring the legal dimension into the conversation, reflecting on what she sees from her own clients and how the emotional and financial landscape of family planning intersects with the legal one.

Zita West | Author and Leading Fertility Expert
Midwife, acupuncturist and nutritional adviser, Zita West is one of the UK's most respected voices in fertility and reproductive health. She founded the Zita West Clinic in London over two decades ago, building it into a leading centre for integrated fertility support that works alongside IVF clinics and consultants across the country. Her approach has always brought together clinical rigour and a deep understanding of the whole person, recognising that conception is shaped by far more than biology alone. Over forty years she has supported thousands of couples through every stage of the fertility journey, from early preparation through to pregnancy and beyond. Conceive is her most comprehensive work to date, drawing on that accumulated experience to offer women a new way of understanding and working with their bodies.
Amy Rowe | Partner, Hunters Law LLP
Amy Rowe is a family lawyer at Hunters Law, advising clients on domestic and international family law issues and the legal dimensions of modern family building. Her work brings her into close contact with individuals and couples navigating fertility decisions alongside relationship uncertainty, financial pressure and significant life transition.
She has particular insight into how fertility journeys intersect with legal realities, from the implications of IVF and embryo ownership, to the complexities of separation during treatment, and the evolving considerations around egg freezing, donor conception, same-sex family building, surrogacy and co-parenting arrangements.
Amy’s perspective adds an important and often overlooked dimension to the fertility conversation, helping to ground deeply personal and emotional decisions within the practical legal frameworks that can shape a person’s options, security and future.
