Now imagine that device is run on clean, non-polluting solar energy.

Well, that’s the idea behind Plug-In PV, or Balcony Solar. It is taking off in Europe and we want to bring it to California. Whether you live in a high-rise, an apartment, own your home, or are a renter, we want you to plug into the sun!Join Bright Saver and our key coalition partners at our Oakland warehouse for a hands-on workshop during SF Climate Week 2026. We are celebrating an exciting new frontier of the solar movement: Plug-in, or "balcony" solar. It is portable, and simple to use -- panels on a balcony, terrace, or backyard plug into a standard outlet to offset grid use. A single kit in California can save a family hundreds of dollars per year.

This event is about expanding awareness on this emerging, exciting technology, particularly as state legislation is being considered to make accessing these systems easier and more affordable for all Californians.
