Learn how to use agentic AI in your product development and design workflows in this one-day, hands-on workshop. Leave with knowledge and techniques you can integrate into real projects on Monday.
Who Should Attend
Product designers and UX/UI designers who want extend their full-stack design capabilitiesProduct managers and leaders who want to understand how AI agents will change product development workflows and lead teams to incorporate AI innovationsProducers and senior technical artists who want to reduce time spent on research, prototyping, and documentationCreative directors and technical artists who work at the intersection of design and productionFounders and entrepreneurs who are looking for fast, practical up-skilling to realize their product ideas
Prerequisites
Familiarity with product design workflows and the software development lifecycleExperience working within cross-functional product or development teamsBasic exposure to LLM tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, or Midjourney is helpful but not requiredYou must bring your own laptop.
Instructors
Kat Moynahan is a senior product design professional with over a decade of experience at the intersection of design, technology, and AI. She has led product and UX initiatives at Microsoft, JPMorgan Chase, and Accenture Tech Labs, where she built the Visual Literacy Program, a global capability-building initiative that scaled design thinking across a large practitioner community through adoption-first principles rather than top-down mandates.
Kat holds a BFA from Simon Fraser University and an MFA in Design from California College of the Arts. Today, she works with B2B and B2C startups on product strategy, journey mapping, customer research, and AI UX, helping teams understand not just how to build with AI, but how to design for it responsibly and effectively.
Her hands-on expertise includes prototyping with code and using AI throughout the design process from generating and stress-testing concepts, to building interactive prototypes that communicate ideas with real fidelity. She helps designers move beyond static mockups and into working product thinking, using AI tools to compress timelines, sharpen decision-making, and close the gap between design intent and shipped experience.
Overview
Agentic AI for Product Designers is a practitioner-led, full-day workshop designed for experienced designers who want to lead, not follow, the shift to agentic product development. The curriculum is grounded in real production workflows. This is hands-on-keyboards!
The day runs in two arcs. The morning builds the foundation: how AI agents map to the product development lifecycle, how agentic systems work, and how to develop product ideas using AI for research and documentation. The afternoon goes hands-on with the two capabilities that change the designer's role most: creating production-ready functional prototypes and integrating design systems to guide AI agent development.
You will not write code. You will direct systems that do.
Agenda
Morning: Foundations (9:00 β 12:30)
9:00 β 9:30 β Welcome and context setting How agentic AI is reshaping the product development lifecycle. What changes for designers, what stays, and why design judgment becomes more valuable, not less.
9:30 β 11:00 β The agent loop How agentic systems perceive, reason, act, and remember. Live walkthroughs of production agent loops. Where design inputs shape agent behavior and where they break down.
Discussion: where do you see the most value in applying AI agents in your workflow?
11:00 β 11:15 β Break
11:15 β 12:30 β Mapping your opportunity space Structured exercise: participants map their own workflow's highest-leverage opportunities for agentic AI. PRD development using AI.Β Group share-out.
12:30 β 13:30 β π₯ Lunch (provided by organizers)
Afternoon: Building (13:30 β 17:00)
13:30 β 15:00 β Prototyping with AI How to set up and use agentic tools to generate a production-ready prototyping environment. This is not style guides as PDFs. This is a living system your agents can read, reference, and enforce across a build.
15:00 β 15:15 β Break
15:15 β 16:30 β Design systems inside agentic workflows How to wire your design system into an agentic development pipeline so agents build to your spec. The designer moves from delivering comps to setting the constraints and rules agents operate within.
16:30 β 17:00 β Closing and Q&A Personal action plans. What to bring back to your team. Resources for continuing the work.
Learning Outcomes
Direct agentic systems using design judgment, not codeBuild a production-ready design system using AI-assisted workflowsIntegrate a design system as a constraint layer inside an agentic development pipelineMap your product's highest-leverage opportunities for agentic AILead cross-functional teams through the design-to-deployment pipeline with confidenceApply a repeatable agentic design workflow to any future project
Certification
Participants who complete the workshop receive a certificate of completion issued by the Centre for Digital Media upon successful completion.
