Apr 20 – Apr 21, 2026
Rafik B. Hariri Building, Washington, DC 20057, USA, Washington, United States

About this event

Ever wondered what it takes for a forest fire to make it to the news? And how would they reflect in our re-calculations towards Net Zero? The number of incidents is far beyond what we are informed about and the arising Net Zero complications are disregarded.

We’ve carefully curated experiences and discussions to shed light on the hindering impact of wildfires and the untapped potential for innovative businesses which could change the future of economy and the future of nature. OWNING A BIGGER SLICE OF THE PIE, TAMING THE SUPER-POLLUTANTS

What’s Included?

Panel discussion

The panel features industry experts in business, economics, data tech, pre-fire mitigation, and climate adaptation; leaders who’ve built businesses and delivered solutions to tackle super-pollutants and tame the devastating impacts of forest fires on the economy and the environment. Forest fires are believed to be natural phenomena while data shows 75-85% of them are caused by humans. This panel will investigate the complications of poor human choices and the need for innovative businesses to change the course to a more resilient and regenerative economy and nature. You are invited to participate in Q&A afterwards and make this an interactive time to exchange both concerns and future ideas.

Speakers include:Amy Butler - Founder & Principal, Threshold Advisory LLC

Ali Dadpay, Ph.D. — Economist & Data Scientist, Austin Economic Development

Nahid Boustani - Founder & CEO, Impact Ventures

Why Attending?

Do we consider the increase in severe wildfire a result of climate change, or should we start considering wildfires actual cause of that change? Join us for a memorable and eye opening event. We look forward to meeting talents, change agents, Earth angels, innovators, and business partners.
