Our range of climate emotions is vast -- anxiety about changing weather patterns, anger about government inaction, grief about biodiversity loss -- and it can feel lonely to navigate them alone. Come join us for an arts-based workshop -- guided by local art therapists and climate-aware therapists, who will create a safe holding space for expressing climate emotions and experience art making as a tool to engage and connect. By painting, ripping, drawing, and writing, participants can experience how to metabolize emotions through the creative process, revitalize a connection to others humans and the natural world, and ignite radical hope. No experience or skills required. Art is for everyone.
*This is an art based workshop, not a therapy processing group. Come engage in art and community to learn how accessible art in action can be for you.
Light refreshments will be served. Proceeds from this event will be donated to the West Oakland Environmental Indicators Project (www.woeip.org).
