Climate impacts are jeopardizing the pathways American families have relied upon for decades to achieve upward economic mobility: homeownership, a steady paycheck, an affordable cost of living, and an economy hospitable to small business creation. As climate impacts have strained these pathways, income inequality has also worsened — hollowing out the American middle class. It's no coincidence that these two megatrends are occurring simultaneously. The two intersect and fuel each other.
However, despite their overlap, few decision makers understand climate policy as a mechanism to reduce wealth inequality and grow middle America. This missed opportunity is undermining America’s economic progress, and holding back a durable, bipartisan federal climate movement.
Join us on Wednesday, April 22, for an immersive workshop to explore the efforts, strategies, and solutions to build an affordability agenda for climate action that can rebuild the American middle class. Note that attendance is limited to approved participants.
Lunch, coffee, and snacks will be provided during this one-day event, which will bring together a multi-sector audience to explore how to create better links between economic mobility, affordability, and climate actions. Through expert presentations, immersive breakout exercises, and ample opportunities for networking, the event will help participants identify opportunities to reframe climate action and set a course for a new agenda at the intersection of climate and economic mobility.
