City Nature Challenge Bioblitz at Yerba Buena Island 2026! | San Francisco Environment Department (SFE)
Join TIDA, SFE, and Cal Academy on Yerba Buena Island to participate in the 11th international Bioblitz to identify local flora and fauna using iNaturalist app!
Volunteers will explore Yerba Buena Island using iNaturalist to identify and capture wild, local biodiversity. Our goal is to capture data by taking pictures of existing wildlife to highlight the importance of green spaces and healthy ecosystems in San Francisco, especially in our Environmental Justice communities.
Participants will need a smartphone to download the app prior to the activity. Staff will provide further instructions at the event.
