Hemingway Sessions: A Practical Framework for Integrating Lived Experience into Mental Health Companies

by The Hemingway Report

About this event

We all want lived experience at the core of our work in mental health tech. Yet few of us know how to build it into real product decisions, service design, and company strategy. Jon Nelson and Brandon Staglin are joining Hemingway Sessions to share a practical framework for doing exactly that. Their work draws on the experience of the One Mind Lived Experience Council, which regularly advises startups on products, services, and strategy and is now developing a standardized, adaptable model for integrating lived-experience guidance more effectively. This session is for founders, product leaders, clinicians, operators, and researchers who want to move beyond good intentions and get clearer on what meaningful lived-experience integration actually looks like in practice. About the speakers: Jon Nelson is the Co-founder of The Other Side working at the intersection of neuroscience, lived experience, product design and healthcare communications. He is also Director of Lived Experience at Motif Neurotech, a member of the One Mind Lived Experience Council, Board Member at the American Brain Coalition, and Chief Pulverize Officer at Pulverize the Stigma. Brandon Staglin is Co-founder and Chief Advocacy and Engagement Officer at One Mind, a global organization harnessing science and lived experience to improve mental health outcomes for individuals, families, and society. As Founding Chair of One Mind's Lived Experience Council, Brandon champions the integration of lived experience in co-designing effective, ethical, and engaging mental health solutions.
