A clean and healthy Bay provides climate resilience for people and wildlife across the Bay Area. The San Francisco Bay Restoration Authority is a regional funding agency created to fund shoreline habitat projects that will protect, restore, and enhance San Francisco Bay through the allocation of funds raised by the Measure AA parcel tax passed in 2016.
Adapting to a changing climate requires collaboration across government agencies, nonprofit organizations, environmental engineers and consultants, construction firms, as well as environmental and community advocates at all levels. From small-scale pilot projects to landscape-scale habitat restoration projects, a climate resilient Bay Area relies on all these sectors working together to restore our Bay shoreline.
This session will highlight three projects the San Francisco Bay Restoration Authority has funded that exemplify how shoreline habitat restoration projects build climate resilience for wildlife and human communities. The session will include presentations from restoration practitioners and natural resource managers from around the Bay Area and will conclude with a Q&A discussion with the presenters.
