War is a serious climate issue. As war in the Middle East escalates, we are called to educate, shift consciousness, and try to change our world. There Is Another Way follows Combatants for Peace--a small group of former Israeli and Palestinian fighters--as they work together to rediscover their shared humanity, and show the world what is possible when we refuse to accept violence, dehumanization and destruction as a viable way to live.
This event will take place from 6pm-8:30pm at the Brower Center Theatre in Berkeley, and includes both a film screening and a facilitated discussion with Reconsider directors Stephen Apkon and Marcina Hale, as well as members of Combatants for Peace, a grassroots movement of Israelis and Palestinians working together to end the occupation and bring peace, equality, and freedom to their homeland.
Please note that this film contains graphic footage of real-life violence, and may not be suitable for all viewers. (See trailer here.) This event aims to create a greater sense of our connectedness, a greater understanding of the impacts of intergenerational trauma, and a deeper commitment to care for all of humanity and the Earth.
