

Take an hour or two from your busy week to swim, wade or just hang out and enjoy nature at Aquatic Park, one of the best spots to experience San Francisco Bay.
Whether it’s your first time open-water swimming or you’ve been doing it for years, come hang out with fellow nature lovers to celebrate SF Climate Week and experience “nature connectedness,” the joy, relaxation and health benefits that come from swimming or wading in natural waterways.
You will need:
SwimsuitWater bottleTowelWarm, dry clothes to change into after you get out of the water and dry off
Optional:
Swim goggles or snorkel mask/gearSwim capWetsuit - if the 55-59 F water temp seems too cold, you can purchase a shorty wetsuit online for less than $100, or rent a full-body swim wetsuit at Sports Basement for $40/day, $50/weekend, $75/week.
Meet on the white concrete bleachers next to the Maritime Museum. Look for the green SF Climate Week sign. We will watch your belongings while you’re in the water.
Public bathrooms are available at the Maritime Museum Wednesday to Sunday 10am to 4pm, and at Hyde Street Pier.
Free public parking can be found at the northern end of Van Ness Ave next to Aquatic Park, at Fort Mason at the northern end of Franklin Street, near Fisherman's Wharf Youth Hostel - take the stairs down the bluff to Aquatic Park - and street parking.
If you can't swim, please notify the organizer and plan to borrow a lifejacket to wade in the water.
Unfortunately, NO LIFEGUARD on duty at Aquatic Park.
