About Martha ​Martha Bomar serves as Site Lead at Merck’s Dunboyne facility just outside Dublin, a state-of-the-art biologics drug substance commercialization site specializing in the development, manufacturing, and analytical characterization of monoclonal antibodies. ​Since joining Merck in 2012, Martha has held diverse leadership roles across Operations, Technology, and Quality within both Vaccines and Biologics. She has contributed her expertise across four manufacturing sites in the United States and Ireland, gaining a broad perspective on global biologics production and commercialization. ​With a PhD in Biochemistry focused on Structural Biology and Biophysics from Duke University and postdoctoral training at SRI International, Martha brings deep scientific expertise to operational leadership. Throughout her career, she has leveraged her technical foundation to drive innovation, strengthen cross-functional collaboration, and foster academic partnerships that support scientific advancement and talent development. ​In this fireside chat, Martha will share insights from her journey across science and large-scale biologics manufacturing, offering valuable perspectives for trainees and early-career professionals interested in industry leadership, global operations, and the commercialization of complex therapeutics.
