This event is part of SF Climate Week 2026, San Francisco's citywide gathering of over 25,000 people accelerating climate solutions across the Bay Area. Our contribution to that conversation happens outside, on the coast, around a fire, with food. Because the most powerful climate action is the kind you can taste.
Some of the best food in the world grows right here on the California coast. Most people walk past it every weekend.
This is an intimate afternoon at Muir Beach for a maximum of 15 guests. You will spend the afternoon learning to identify and ethically harvest seaweed, sea rocket, and other coastal edibles with Ambre of Flora & Fungi, one of the Bay Area's most trusted foraging guides. Then Chef Geronimo Ramos, whose family roots trace back to the Philippines, takes over the fire.
Watch and participate as he prepares a full coastal meal over live fire:
🌿 Seaweed salad🦪 Mussels steamed in coconut broth🔥 Clams dry-grilled right over the grates with coconut vinegar dipping sauce🐟 Whole rockfish stuffed and roasted over the coals
All food and fire are provided. All seafood is sustainably sourced. Depending on seasonal coastal conditions and California regulations, you may have the opportunity to forage some of what you eat.
This is primarily an immersive cooking demonstration with moments of hands-on participation throughout. Come ready to watch, learn, ask questions, and eat well.
WHY THIS IS A CLIMATE EVENT
Regenerative food systems start with understanding where food comes from. This afternoon is a direct, embodied experience of the California coastal ecosystem: what it provides, how to harvest it ethically and legally, and how to cook it in a way that honors the source. Ethical foraging, sustainable seafood sourcing, and indigenous-rooted cooking traditions are not peripheral to the climate conversation. They are central to it.
