Lovers and Readers is an intentionally small, curated gathering designed for people who value books, meaningful conversation, and genuine connection. This evening offers an opportunity to slow down, meet like-minded people, and engage in thoughtful dialogue about who we are becoming - through change, growth, and the stories that shape us.

What to Expect

Guided connection through lightly facilitated introductions and conversations that make getting to know new people feel natural and comfortableDeep, meaningful discussion around identity, personal growth, and the transitions we find ourselves in - grounded in literature and reflectionThe possibility of connection - new friendships, thoughtful conversations, or simply a sense of being seen and understood, and maybe a meet-cute!

What to Bring

Before the evening, choose a passage/poem/line from a book you genuinely enjoy - the kind of line you underlined, dog-eared, or still think about. It might reflect a moment of change, a shift in identity, or something that speaks to who you are becoming. There’s no right way to do it; just something that feels true to you.

You’ll be invited to read your passage aloud and share what it means to you, how it connects to your experiences, your perspective, or the version of yourself you’re growing into. Think of it as a chance to share a small part of your inner world through words that already know how to say it. Then we'll let others share their thoughts about how they related to the reading and the conversation continues...

First time at a Social Studio event? You’re in good company. Everything is gently guided, there’s no pressure to impress, and curiosity matters far more than confidence. Come as you are - the room is designed to make getting to know each other feel easy and natural.

This is not a book club, and it’s not a networking event. You're not forced to read a book someone else likes - but you get to tell others why a book changed your life! It’s a thoughtfully designed social experience for people who enjoy depth over small talk and connection over performance.

Throughout the evening, facilitation will gently guide the flow - from introductions, to shared readings, to small-group conversations - creating an atmosphere that supports openness, ease, and authentic exchange. You don’t need to be an extrovert or a public speaker; the structure is designed to help everyone participate comfortably.

Whether you come hoping to meet new people, reflect on where you are in your life, or simply spend an evening in good company with others who enjoy thoughtful conversation, Lovers and Readers: On Becoming offers something meaningful to take with you.
