Cambridge EduX Hackathon 2026 - Oceania Edition (Syndey) A Cambridge-initiated 7-Day innovation sprint for future Education EduX Hackathon was first developed in Cambridge as the first ever student-led education hackathon in the UK. The initiative was created to bring together humanities thinkers and technology builders to explore how emerging technologies can reshape the future of education and address real educational challenges. Following successful editions in Cambridge, we are now launching the Oceania EduX Hackathon 2026, bringing this initiative to Sydney, Australia and inviting participants from across Australia, New Zealand and the wider Oceania region. Who Should Join EduX is designed as an interdisciplinary innovation sprint, where people from different backgrounds collaborate to develop new ideas and prototype solutions at the intersection of technology, education and society. We welcome technology builders and humanities thinkers including: Developers, AI engineers, Product builders, UI/UX designers, Educators, Researchers, Sociologists, Psychologists, Entrepreneurs, Students and anyone with ideas about the future of education. Team size should be 2–5 people. You are welcome to come as a team or as an individual looking for teammates on the day. New to Hackathons? Non-coders are very welcome. At our previous Cambridge EduX Hackathon, over 40% of participants were joining their first hackathon. Peter works with organisations across Higher Education, Vocational Education & Training and K-12 schools including Universities, TAFEs and Polytechnics as well as Departments and Ministries of Education. He helps key stakeholders prioritise AI use cases that have the biggest impact on their organisation, and identifies opportunities to resource and accelerate projects via Microsoft's capabilities and partner ecosystem, from proof of concepts to pilots and production. Dan Hart - Founder of CurricuLLM Dan Hart is the founder of CurricuLLM, a startup building curriculum-aligned AI chat and analytics tools for schools. Previously, Dan was Head of AI at the NSW Department of Education, where he led one of the largest generative AI deployments in the world, reaching over 500K staff and students. His work focuses on unlocking teacher time, aligning AI to local curricula, and embedding AI safely and responsibly in education systems.
